UIDAI allows customers of Aadhaar cardsto change their address and without the need of documents. Aadhaar card holders were able to alter their address in the event that they don't have ID proof.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped an important feature that lets you alter your Aadhaar card's address without a identity proof.
UIDAI permits holders of Aadhaar cards to change their address without documentation. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address, provided they accept the authorization of the address verifier. An address verifier could be a friend, relative, landlord or family member who can allow the Aadhaar card user to utilize their address as proof.
UIDAI has stopped this facility. UIDAI was notified by an Aadhaar Card user by tweeting the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Certificate has been ended. UIDAI has requested an Aadhaar provider to alert the user that they can change their address by using another acceptable PoA document.
Dear Residents: The Service for Address Validation Letter service has been removed until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
